Event description

Description

Join food enthusiasts, academics, entrepreneurs, and public servants for the first annual, statewide membership meeting of the Florida Food Policy Council being held in Sanford, FL on Saturday, June 24th. The burgeoning Council has spent the past 18 months gathering data from the various regions of the state in order to distinguish common policy challenges and food system goals. We will be rolling out our findings as well as electing an Executive Board, choosing a mission and vision, and voting on top policy concerns to focus on for the coming two year period. Food Policy expert Mark Winne, author of Closing the Food Gap: Resetting the Table in the Land of Plenty, will be guiding the event as the keynote speaker and facilitator for the meeting.

If you work with food, care about food being available and nutrient dense, or eat food then this is an event for you! This is your opportunity to add your voice to a conversation that concerns every single human being that lives in the state of Florida. Our goal is to bring a diverse group of stakeholders to the table to discuss how to best support a healthy and functional food system for the state.
