8:45 to 9:30 a.m. Smart Grid: Next Generation Power System
Washington State University will highlight its partnership with Avista and other firms to launch a next generation power system. America’s electric grid has changed little since it was first built more than a century ago, yet energy usage has increased dramatically in recent decades. The presentation will focus on the security mechanisms currently in place and how the next generation system is being structured for stability and reliability. Speakers: Adam Hahn, Washington State University’s School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Cybersecurity for Business...Made Simple
The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) has created a workshop to help small- and medium-sized businesses handle cyber threats. Attendees will gain an increased understanding of the threats, as well as the tools available to secure their company data. Speaker: Michael Kaiser, National Cyber Security Alliance.
