Event description

Description

The Tampa Bay Partnership and USF Muma College of Business have teamed up to present brand new data that (1) reports Tampa Bay's competitive standing compared to 19 other peer and aspirational communities in the United States, and (2) provides an economic forecast grounded in big data, analytics and modeling. We are pleased to invite you and a colleague to attend, as our complimentary guests, a luncheon where we will unveil these new tools that will help our leaders develop strategies to achieve improved regional prosperity.

More information:

The Tampa Bay Partnership, in collaboration with United Way Suncoast, the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, and other business and philanthropic partners throughout the region, is currently leading the development of a Regional Competitiveness Report. The 2017 report is generously sponsored by Sykes Enterprises. Published annually, this comprehensive research tool will benchmark our community against 19 peer and aspirational markets nationwide, and provide an unbiased and contextual account of the economic performance, competitiveness and prosperity of the region. The Regional Competitiveness Report will help the leaders of Tampa Bay establish a clearly defined regional vision, prioritize issues and resources, and measure community progress toward shared goals.

The Center for Analytics & Creativity at the USF Muma College of Business is leading a new initiative that uses big data, analytics and economic models to measure the economic prosperity of the Tampa Bay region. Using innovative methodology, and working with regional stakeholders, this initiative will not only inform an economic forecast but will also pinpoint leading indicators which will inform business and policy leaders as they make public and private investments. The findings will be presented in an annual Prosperity Trends & Economic Forecast Report. The initiative will also help develop a novel regional prosperity index to help Tampa Bay business and city leaders evaluate the progress towards regional prosperity goals. The index will be created using a combination of traditional and new age indicators, such as ones derived from search trends and social sentiment.

Join us for lunch as we unveil the competitiveness report and economic forecast for Tampa Bay. Registration for the event will begin at 11:00 a.m.
