Description

This State of Deconstruction Workshop will cover the ground-breaking success of the Portland’s Mandatory Deconstruction ordinance and the State of Deconstruction nationally and in the Bay Area.

We are excited to have Shawn Wood, Construction Waste Specialist at the City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, joining us in person! He will be presenting the details of their process of creating the ordinance and managing it.

Joe Connell, the newly appointed Executive Director of the Building Materials Reuse Association (BMRA), will provide an overview of the State of Deconstruction at a national level, and provide perspective on what has been happening in Portland from a national standpoint.

Nicole Tai, Board Member with The Reuse Alliance and CEO of GreenLynx, will provide a quick overview of the current state of deconstruction and the reuse markets in the Bay Area.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

You may bring your own lunch. We will be ordering lunch in, and everyone will have the opportunity to pay individuallyfor compostable sandwich lunch boxes (Please bring $15 cash if you would like to order lunch.)
