State Of California SB/DVBE Contracting and Certification Seminar/Webinar

SACRAMENTO, CA – The Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) in collaboration with The State of California, Department of General Services (DGS) presents the “State of California Small Business (SB) and Disabled Veterans Business Enterprise (DVBE) Contracting and Certification Seminar and Webinar” to be hosted at the VBOC, Conference Room, 4608 Duckhorn Drive, Sacramento, California 95834, or via Webinar.
This course curriculum is a two-part series about the SB and DVBE Certification programs, and the Five-Step Process to obtain those certifications. Government agencies are always seeking quality small businesses to help them fulfill their contracting needs. This training will help participants understand and complete the application process to be a certified State vendor.
The State of California purchases a wide variety of goods and services ranging from pencils to temporary labor. Annual purchases total almost $10 billion. The Procurement Division (PD) is the central purchasing authority for all state departments, agencies, institutions, community colleges, technical institutes and city or local boards of education.
Part I: Become familiar with the State of California’s Small Business (SB) and Disabled Veterans Business Enterprise (DVBE) goals, eligibility requirements, the benefits of the certifications, and how to use your SB/DVBE certification(s) to begin doing business with the State of California.
Part II: Complete the five-step process step-by-step to become certified as a Small Business/Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise and how to market yourself once the certification is obtained.
The Veterans Business Outreach Center is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to serving Veterans of all eras, Reserve, Guard and Transitioning Military members, and their spouses in their initiative to start, sustain or expand a small business. Serving the States of California and Nevada.
