Session #1: Money Matters

So you want to start a tech business, but are anxious about money matters. Do you need an Angel funder? Do you need to save your own money? Do you need to ask a VC? How do you talk to a VC anyway? And what happens after a year or two? Do you HAVE to be profitable? What happens if you are not?
In this 2 hour class, Paul Edmondson will draw upon his own experiences of getting from a garage in Berkeley to running a 25 person successful business in SF. You don't want to make the wrong call. What qualities in your team should you be on the look-out for? What kind of people thrive best in a fledgling company when you haven't even gotten off the start-line? Who should you rely on to be your partner when you are putting your life's savings on the line?
About your Instructors: Paul Deeds and Jay Reitz, co-founders of HubPages will share case-studies and anecdotes of their hiring process and offer attendees a check-list of what they should look for when hiring a technical team or partnering with a co-founder.
