Silicon Vikings Copenhagen and Republikken would like to invite you to our 9th Startup Night! Usually on the first Thursday of every month, we invite one hot Danish startup to answer the four questions:
- Who are you and your company?
- What is the status and the plan?
- What have been the biggest bumps on the road?
- What is it like to be an entrepreneur in Denmark?
+ we allow their creativity to run wild by allowing them one topic of their choice!

This time around on Monday 10th June, Heini Zachariassen, co-founder and CEO of Vivino will take the stage.

Vivino is the company behind the iPhone/Android/Blackberry/Windows 7 app by same name, that identifies and catalogues wine. The app uses image recognition to match the label against its database of 450.000 wines and retrieves the available data. Furthermore, it is possible to like the wine and save it in your wine library and read other people's reviews about the wine. The company was founded in 2009 and its app has already reached one million users. Recently, the company has decided to open an office in San Francisco - perfectly situated between Silicon Valley and Napa Valley.

In the past, Vivino has received $1 million in Series A financing from Creandum, seed funding from SEED Capital and Skype co-founder Janus Friis.

Heini Zachariassen consideres himself to be an "operating entrepreneur". He has a Bachelor in Economics and Business Administration, and has previously worked as Chief Technology Office for Virus112 A/S, CEO and COO for BullGuard Ltd. before founding Vivino.
