Event Details

Are you working on a start-up and trying to understand how to protect your IP?

Do you wonder how and whether to trademark your name and logo? Are you questioning how to best protect your and your team's work? As part of the Boston Innovation and Entrepreneurship Network (BIEN) Speaker Series, join us for a panel discussion with experienced lawyers from WilmerHale, Foley & Lardner, and Lando & Anastasi, LLP who work directly with startups so that you can learn and understand what legal steps to take as you move your concept forward.

Panelists:

Mike Bevilacqua: Mike is a partner in the Boston law firm of WilmerHale, where he has practiced for the past 31 years. His practice focuses on technology related transactions such as research and development agreements, license agreements, collaboration agreements and intellectual property settlement agreements. Mike runs WilmerHale's trademark practice and also maintains a patent prosecution practice.

Greg Gerstenzang: Greg is a senior associate at Lando & Anastasi, LLP in Cambridge, MA with over 10 years of experience. Greg works with clients of all sizes to leverage their intellectual assets through strategic patent portfolio development and management. He prosecutes patent applications domestically and abroad in a wide range of technologies. Greg uses the insight gained from nearly a decade of technical experience in the semiconductor industry to maximize clients' return on their intellectual property.

Chris McKenna: Chris is Co-Chair of the Technology Industry Team, and Co-Chair of the Electronics Practice Group at Foley & Lardner, LLP. His practice focuses on all aspects of patent protection and strategic counseling, including establishing patent positions for startups, patent pottfolio development for emerging technology companies, and world wide patent portfolio management for larger companies. Chris also focuses on accelerated patent examination; counseling on third-party patent related matters, including non-infringement and competitive patent landscape analysis; as well as strategic counseling on the developement and integration of patent portfolios obtained via merger and acquisition.
