Speakers

Sumay Parikh has extensive experience in Venture Capital, Strategic Partnerships, Operations, Product Management, and Business Development. Sumay is the first Principal hire under Quake Capital (Labeled as top 10 Seed Investors in 2018 by Forbes and Crunchbase). Sumay also plays a role as a Board Observer to multiple companies. Prior to his entry in Venture Capital, Sumay was a Co Founder and VP of BD/Ops for a VC Backed Startup. Sumay got his start into business by turning around and operating a hotel management company in Austin, TX selling off most of the assets while turning the remaining properties profitable. Before moving back to the East Coast, Sumay boot strapped a real estate investment fund as a managing partner raising over $20m in capital, deploying and constructing mid to high tier hotels such as Marriotts, Hyatts, and Hiltons.


Allison Williams is Director of NVP Labs, a "bridge-to-seed" accelerator program at Newark Venture Partners. NVP Labs invests in early-traction B2B businesses that have strategic alignment with NVP's corporate LPs (Audible/Amazon, Prudential, Dun & Bradstreet, Panasonic, RWJBarnabas and others). Before moving to venture, Allison became a seasoned leader with CEO and COO experience and a proven track record of driving expansive growth in startup technology companies. As founder and CEO at Yarly, in two and a half years, Allison assembled a talented technical team, built a cross platform mobile application, established a nationwide distributed salesforce and achieved profitability. In mid-2015, Yarly was acquired by YesVideo, a top competitor which powers over 30,000 retail locations, and Allison was retained as an advisor. Since then, Allison has been COO of a multi-national influencer brokerage software company (top clients include L'Oreal and Heineken) as well as Head of Strategy for a leader in the live streaming video space (top clients include Univision and Monumental Sports). Allison is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and Columbia Business School. Allison advises startups on a variety of areas from strategic planning to product/market fit to fundraising.


Han Jing is a B2B pre-seed and seed investor at Differential Ventures, an early-stage VC in New York. Differential invests in companies that leverage the confluence of data, cutting-edge technologies (like AI, Blockchain and edge-computing, and next-gen business models) to disrupt the way enterprises and people interact. Han began his career building advertising networks for eSports in the Bay Area. Later, he held leadership roles in early social apps, e-commerce platforms, and adtech at Walmart Labs building large scale consumer-facing and B2B systems. More recently, he developed computer vision modules for autonomous vehicles at the FAR Lab at Cornell University. Today, Han manages deal flow at Differential. He also advises startups on a variety of areas include fundraising, product/market fit, and technology.

Michael Weiser - Venture Lawyer and Co-Owner Westchester Angels. Michael is a go-to resource and service provider in the tri-state entrepreneur and emerging company community. As a venture lawyer, Michael counsels emerging companies and startups throughout all phases of growth, as well as the angel investors that fund and acquire them. For entrepreneurs and emerging companies, Michael collaborates and works with founders from the spark of their idea to the successful growth and scaling of their companies. He provides outside general counsel and advisory board services that help companies create the proper legal and business foundation to make them investor-ready. Michael is also a co-owner, frequent investor, legal counsel and a member of the screening committee of the Westchester Angels, where Michael actively seeks companies for investment and runs due diligence teams for the Members. Michael is different than any other business attorney as he practices law with a business person’s mindset. A serial entrepreneur having founded 6 startups himself with several successful exits, there is nothing that Michael hasn’t experienced as either a lawyer or a business owner. Finally, Michael is an adjunct professor for entrepreneurship, leads legal workshops for the WEDC organization and teaches business and legal workshops at NYC tech coding schools. He is a frequent lecturer and panelist on business and law panels at conferences and a judge at pitch events.
