Event description

Description

It’s a mindset. A way of thinking. Whether you’re interested in launching your own business, doing a side hustle, or improving your career and life, being entrepreneurial matters. When individuals are adaptable, creative, and flexible, it shows and leads to incredible results. Come hear our dynamic panel featuring: Kelly Cobb, owner of Hunter House Hamburgers and co-host of the Nolan Finley Show; Laura Davis, founder and owner of Detroit Barre; and Clark Ruper, Director of Business Development at Conscious Capitalism. These three leaders are making a difference here in Detroit and will share their insights for how embracing these principles make real impact.

As always, we’ll have free food, and your first drink is on us! Join us at 6:00 pm to meet and network with other young professionals from across Michigan, and the panel discussion will begin at 6:30 pm, with more networking to follow. For more information and to RSVP, visit our Facebook page.

Learn more about our speakers:

Kelly Cobb owns Hunter House Hamburgers, with locations in Birmingham, Ann Arbor, and a food truck in Detroit. He is also the co-host of The Nolan Finley Show, 7am - 9am weekdays on 910AM. Before wearing these two hats, he headed government and external relations for the Cato Institute and managed government and state affairs at Americans for Tax Reform. He fled the swamp in 2014 to return to Detroit, where his roots are with his wife Kaitlyn and two sons. Cobb received his B.A. in political science and philosophy from the University of Michigan.

Laura Davis founded and owns Detroit Barre, a local barre fitness studio in Detroit dedicated to strengthening and uplifting clients. Like many millennials, Davis was bitten by the side hustle bug and after moving home to Michigan from Washington, D.C., she couldn't get the idea of opening a studio downtown out of her head. In her day job, Davis works as an attorney. She holds a J.D. and B.A. in English from the University of Michigan.

Clark Ruper serves as Director of Business Development at Conscious Capitalism Inc. where he works to elevate humanity through business. He previously served in leadership positions at the Atlas Network, Students For Liberty, and the Michigan Taxpayers Alliance. Last year he co-founded MainTask Solutions to provide data, tech, and design solutions for pro-liberty organizations. Clark studied History and Philosophy at the University of Michigan with an emphasis on the impact of intellectual and social movements on American history. He originally intended to teach High School history but got sidetracked on a career in community organizing. He grew up outside Detroit, spent ten years on the East Coast, then to Chicago, and recently returned home with his wife Greta to be part of Detroit’s renaissance.
