About this event
This webinar will go over basic accounting and tax responsibilities that small businesses need to establish and opportunities that might be at their disposal.
The lifeblood of any business is cash flow and profits. Business owners are responsible for tracking such indicators and making important business decisions that can make or break their company. This training will provide them with information about how to identify & track business expenses, plan for, and manage federal taxes, and understand their schedule C and related tax forms (I.e., 1099).
* Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance. Please contact the Tampa Bay Women's Business Centre for more information: tbwbc@thecentre.org.

CPA MAcc
After working in some of the country's largest accounting firms, as well as national and local ones, for many years, Laura founded Athena CPAs & Advisors to impact the small business world by helping entrepreneurs scale their businesses through financial clarity.
With my diverse background as a Latina millennial, my team and I have combined the many years of best practices taught to us while working for various accounting firms with current on-the-field challenges and solutions experienced by business leaders in today's markets to create a more equitable, efficient, and successful business model for service industries. I strive to build an innovative organization that offers value, excellence, and financial empowerment to my clients using the latest technology.
With Athena, I have created a CPA firm like no other that focuses on financial education, empowerment, and community for our team, clients, and community. Through our work, we have been able to impact the Tampa Bay, New Mexico, and Illinois communities through our involvement with the Hispanic Professional Women Association (HPWA), the New Mexico WESST SBA Women Business Center, Arriba Familia, and Future Cycle Breakers.
