START - Create Cultural Change

Fellowship Celebration & Bazaar of Ideas: Explore Socioculture

The Bazaar of Ideas is a platform for connection, exchange and collaboration for the creative community of Greece. The 2-day event offers a space to participate and experience sociocultural projects first hand and be actively involved in a selection of workshops. The event centers on the 15 innovative START initiatives which have been launched over the past 6 months, creating cultural change in local communities all around Greece.

We invite all those who want to explore groundbreaking community projects to join us and actively participate in initiatives that change our societies. Join us to become part of the growing community of change makers bringing social change to your neighborhood or community.

Fellowship Celebration

The festive opening on June 26 will introduce you to all START activities, partners and networks. It also comprises an interactive exhibition where all START fellows and their teams present the fifteen cultural initiatives they have launched over the past six month.

The second day is designed to offer a series of admission free workshops by fellows and alumni of the START program in various fields and forms. It will function as a participatory platform allowing people to interact, co-work, and to take part in or become involved in a sociocultural activity. It also includes an exhibition and video projections created by current fellows and alumni of the START program.

The workshop is addressed to artists and cultural workers who wish to enrich and evolve their practices with respect to human rights.

13.50-14.45 | co-topia - dance lab, MOV, by Eleonora Siarava

It is a dance lab aiming to invite participants to explore and expand their movement vocabulary and their embodied experience in an interactive context.

Bringing HIV as a human experience in the center of public attention: To Whom It May Concern. A case study.

An experiential workshop for parents and teachers by the project Children Movement.

Through a series of fun and easy theatrical games and improvisations we explore how we relate with spaces and objects of daily use.

18.25-19.20 | Τhe Urban Game: Taste the Heritage! The Mystery of the Poisoned Greek Delight, EDU, by Nikos Vandoros and Kleri Bakoura

Visitors shall have the opportunity to solve a simple riddle thus “winning” a participation for the urban game that will be executed later.

19.20-20.00 | Peri Viou – How to start asociocultural center in Greece, EDU, by Sotiris Karagiotas

Public introduction of the Peri Viou sociocultural center in Karditsa, Greece.

18.00-20.00 | DemoCrates open session Thessaloniki

Demo Crates are excited to connect the musical dots of this ever fervent music scene for the first time, in a session where you can be part of the soundtrack at the Foyer of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall. All producers, DJs, musicians or just music lovers are invited to submit at the venue on the same day, ONE song, tune, beat, track or recording each. Any style and tempo, something that you have produced or that you connect with. The final outcome, an unprecedented audio puzzle of purebred talent and participatory ideas, will be mixed real-time there and then.
