Meet the stars of the legendary Vakhtangov State Academic Theatre of Russia, in an informal, interactive discussion, before the U.S. Premiere of the original play “Eugene Onegin” at New York City Center on May 29.
Cherry Orchard Festival presents a vibrant Meet The Artist series at New York Public Library. The event is part of the Cherry Orchard Festival's programming (www.cherryorchardfestival.org), presented in partnership with Literary Theater Dialogue.
The program will feature world-renowned director, Rimas Tuminas, and the leading actors of the Vakhtangov Theatre: Sergey Makovetskiy, Irina Kupchenko, Ludmila Maksakova, Vladimir Vdovichenkov, and Olga Lerman. Along with Cherry Orchard Festival producers, Maria Shclover and Irina Shabshis, the cast will discuss the modern interpretation of Alexander Pushkin's “novel in verse”, as well as the history of The Vakhtangov Theatre, Russia's most celebrated repertoire theater. The program will include a Q&A session. The event will be moderated by Irina Volkovich, of Literary Theater Dialogue.
