Mentoring through Humanizing Practices: How Can I Help Youth Attain Their Happiness?

This conference will focus on the behavior managemet practice of Restorative Justice, addressing the importance of self-reflection, relationship building, and humanizing practices when mentoring youth in the Stars After School and Mentoring programs. Participants will have the opportunity to develop a better understanding of efforts that can be made to connect with youth as well as proactive and restorative practices that can be utilized when resolving differences and/or harm between volunteers and students. Ultimately, participants will be challenged to create a Response Plan in which they list proactive and restorative efforts that can be made with youth to encourage lasting, meaningful relationships.
