Students of EN 8583: Food and Identity in Literature will discuss southern foodways and serve a southern meal with signature cocktail.

About this Event

The Starkville Table of Culinary Justice will host a 21 and up event entitled "Investigating The Southern Plate" at 7 p.m., May 1 at The Fellowship Place, catered by The Little Dooey.

Graduate students of EN 8583: Food and Identity in Literature taught by Dr. Jervette Ward will discuss Southern foodways while serving a Southern meal.

Tickets are $50.00 and include a four course meal, an alcoholic signature cocktail, and a complimentary gift. All proceeds will go to benefit the Mississippi Food Network, an affiliate of Feeding America focused on feeding Mississippians.

The goal of The Starkville Table of Culinary Justice is to educate the community on the backgrounds and significance of the foods that compose the Southern plate, while advocating for culinary justice.
