About this Event

Rev. Dr. Leah D. Schade is the Assistant Professor of Preaching and Worship at Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, Kentucky. An ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America for twenty years, Leah earned both her MDiv and PhD degrees from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (now United Lutheran Seminary). She is the author of five books, including the forthcoming volume, co-authored with Jerry Sumney, Apocalypse When?: A Guide to Interpreting and Preaching Apocalyptic Texts. Leah is the EcoPreacher blogger for Patheos where she explores the intersections of religion and politics, culture, media, and environmental issues. An avid Blade Runner fan since 1982, Leah has contributed chapters to two anthologies about the Blade Runner franchise, “Less Human than Human,” co-written with Emily Askew, Blade Runner 2049 and Philosophy: This Breaks the World, (ed. Robin Bunce and Trip McCrossin; Chicago: Open Court, 2019); and “Skin Jobs and Snow Jobs: Blade Runner 2049 as Cli-Fi Noir and Race Erasure”; The Cyberpunk Nexus: Exploring the Blade Runner Universe (Lou Tambone and Joe Bongiorno, editors; Edwardsville, Illinois: Sequart Research and Literacy Organization, 2018). Leah has been a featured speaker for the Festival of Homiletics, leads workshops and retreats, and keynotes events throughout the country. She lives in Lexington, Kentucky with her husband and two teenage children.

Krasava Myers is an author, entertainment journalist, and chief editor of the Star Wars news entertainment website Scavenger's Holocron. Her greatest achievements include publishing her dissertation, pulling two all-nighters at Star Wars Celebration Orlando, and teaching Chris Hardwick sign language. She also volunteers as the character Mara Jade in the 501st and Rebel Legion.

Zaki Hasan is a professor of Communication and Media Studies and member of the San Francisco Bay Area Film Critics Circle. His reviews and analyses have appeared in venues such as The San Francisco Chronicle, IGN, and Philly Weekly, and he is co-host of the MovieFilm Podcast. He has also contributed to books on the Star Wars, Planet of the Apes, and Blade Runner franchises.

RUSS COLCHAMIRO is the author of the rollicking time travel/space adventure, Crossline, the SF/F backpacking comedy series Finders Keepers: The Definitive Edition, Genius de Milo, and Astropalooza, editor of the SF mystery anthology Love, Murder & Mayhem, and co-author of the noir anthology Murder in Montague Falls, all with Crazy 8 Press. Russ has also contributed to more than a dozen other anthologies.

His latest novel is Crackle and Fire, the first in a new scifi mystery series featuring his intergalactic private eye, Angela Hardwicke. He is currently writing the second book in the series.

Russ lives in New Jersey with his wife, two ninjas.
