Event description

Description

Please join us for a full-scale medication and vaccination dispensing exercise. This exercise is part of a larger regional exercise to test our capability to dispense life-saving medication after a large-scale bio-terrorism attack. The St. Louis County DPH will open a point-of-dispensing (POD) to hand-out mock pills and vaccine shots to the general public who may have been "exposed" to the anthrax bio-agent. We are looking for volunteers to play as POD workers and "patients". You can "purchase" a free ticket for the position that you would like to play as well as view a brief description of the role.

The exercise play will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will run for approximately one hour to an hour and a half. Those who will participate as a POD worker, please arrive at the St. Vincent Community Center by 8:30am for an overview of your role and the facility. Those who sign-up as a "patient", please arrive by 10:00 a.m. for check-in. The parking and/or drop-off area will be marked by signage.

Immediately following the exercise play, a brief Hot Wash (exercise discussion) will take place with the POD workers and other partners. Lunch will be provided.

The lead exercise planners for this event are Gregg Kocher (gkocher@stlouisco.com) and Zachary Koch (zkoch@stlouisco.com). Please contact the lead planners with any questions or reply to this event link.

Thank you for your participation.
