in a Single-Day

All who are interested in conflict transformation are welcome!

Featuring Donna L. Minter, PhD, Licensed Psychologist, Certified STAR Trainer, and Executive Director, Minnesota Peacebuilding and Leadership Institute

Assisted by Angela Dickey, retired Foreign Service Officer, Certified STAR Trainer, CEO of Angela R Dickey, LLC

STAR-Lite is a single-day research-supported, experiential education training. It integrates neuropsychology, trauma healing & resilience, restorative justice, nonviolent conflict transformation, and broadly defined spirituality to promote trauma-informed and resilience-oriented individuals and organizations. STAR strategies transform psychological trauma into nonviolent power.

STAR-Lite Training is administered by the Minnesota Peacebuilding Leadership Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. STAR is a program of the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding, Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, VA

While inclusive of the traditional DSM-V medical model understanding of psychological trauma, STAR and STAR-Lite are designed for those seeking to address psychological trauma from a broader bio-psycho-social perspective. STAR-Lite is designed for those wanting to understand psychological trauma toward building peace within their spheres of influence while developing personal and professional self-care and resilience.

Training Objectives:
1. Learn various types of trauma impacting diverse populations and common responses to psychological trauma.
2. Learn the links between unhealed trauma and cycles of victimhood and violence.
