STAR Ambassador Art Fall 2022~ In Monterey or Soledad beginning Aug. 16/17

Be a part of Special Kids Connect's NEW STAR Ambassador Art program!  

This Fall, we are thrilled to collaborate with Progress Not Perfection Paint Parties with Miss Jess! Each week, participants and STAR Ambassadors will complete a new creation on canvas, building on the techniques learned in previous weeks. This program is a great opportunity for teens to complete community service hours!

STAR Ambassadors are an integral part of the Special Kids Connect REACH team. Designed for teens, ages 12 to 17, Special Kids Connect's STAR Ambassador program gives teens an opportunity to have fun with their peers, work alongside children and young adults with a wide range of abilities, and expand their understanding of inclusion and valuing the differences of others. We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals who are committed to making a difference through the contribution of their time and talents - no matter what their level of experience. Assist in developing an inclusive and diverse environment that allows everyone to express their different perspectives in a respectful manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Modeling appropriate behavior
• Supporting participants with proper technique
• Developing social skills such as raising their hands when they need help
• Encourage participants to persevere through finishing their painting

Qualifications:

• Four weeks commitment (one hr/wk)
• No art experience needed
• Energetic and enthusiastic individuals with the desire to have fun!

Join us! In collaboration with Progress Not Perfection Paint Parties, REACH Art will take place on for four weeks:

• Tuesdays (August 16, 23, 30, and September 6) in the Monterey Moose Lodge at 4pm-5pm

OR

• Wednesdays (August 17, 24, 31, and September 7) in the Soledad Community Center at 4pm-5pm
