About this Event

Speak:

Public speaking is tough, even downright excruciating for some. However we all have to do it. Whether it is a work meeting, your best friends wedding toast or you standing on stage making a crowd of people laugh, all need public speaking skills.

Public speaking allows us to:

Win over the crowd

Motivate people

Inform people

Tell our stories to others

Standup:

This is an interactive workshop where you will learn joke writing skills and be able to incorporate it into your public speaking skills.

Participants will not only learn but also do a short standup routine for fellow attendees.

We cannot guarantee instant comedic capabilities, however you will leave with more confidence in your public speaking abilities.

Previous comedy experience required – if you have made at least one person laugh in your life, you qualify

About AMNA:

Amna is awesome!

Amna moved to the Midwest in March from Boston primarily to test the theory of the midwestern hospitality

Chemical engineer by day, comedian by night (however parents don’t share her night time aspirations with anyone they know) , Amna started doing standup comedy in 2016 as a way to prove to her family that she is objectively hilarious . This experiment had serious side effects because everyone in her family thinks they are comedians now – they are not!

Amna started doing standup to work on her public speaking and storytelling skills, and has developed this workshop to help others achieve the same goals.

You can contact Amna at @amnatique for references regarding awesomeness
