Event description

Description

Host Committee: Jim Campen and Phyllis Ewen, Leslie Cohen, Amy Merrill

Our country is at a crossroads. Will we stand in deep abiding love for one another? Or will we stand by idly as income inequality, racism and bigotry grows?

At MCAN - we choose LOVE. We invite you to join us at a Cambridge/Somerville House party to learn more about MCAN’s community organizing work. Currently, we are focused on:

- Fight for $15 minimum wage and Paid Family Medical Leave

- Fair Share Tax campaign to raise $2B for education and transportation

- Jobs NOT Jails campaign to reduce mass incarceration

- Building a Sanctuary Network to resist deportations of immigrants

MCAN is building on a strong track record. Working with key allies, MCAN recently led the successful campaigns for an $11 statewide minimum wage and earned sick time for all workers.

Cambridge and Somerville play an important role in social justice efforts and we invite you to join us at this house party to learn how you can be part of these critical campaigns to win greater dignity and opportunity for all in MA.

At the event you will hear first hand about these exciting campaigns and have an opportunity to give a donation or sign up to volunteer. We will have food and drinks. Together we can make a difference! Join us!
