Stand Up and Paddle for In the Pink is a stand up paddle boarding event featured at The Jacksonville Dragon Boat Festival on September 23rd at Metro Park in downtown Jacksonville.

Stand Up Paddling starts at 9 AM with FREE DEMO BOARDS from Black Creek Outfitters and Aqua East Surf Shop with board designs from Michael Dolsey, Starboard, BicSUP and the new Hobie Mirage Eclipse. SUP vendors will be on-site with boards, paddles and SUP technique training for paddlers of all ages and experience levels. At 9:30am a free 30 minute on land clinic will be hosted by Professional Paddler and ACA SUP Instructor Trainer Matt Hite, as he will be on-site for any first timers or enthusiast looking to grow in the sport of SUP.

Competition registration is also available on-site at 9am.

10 AM Experience first-hand from SUP YOGA instructors who take the time with first timers, beginners, advanced all the way up to the elite to learn to feel the movement of the water with relaxation, breathing and body control while performing such moves as: Cat-Cow Pose and Balasana (Child’s Pose), Vrksasana (Tree Pose), Virabhadrasana I (Warrior Pose I), Downward-Facing Dog, Plank Pose, Anjaneyasana (Low Lunge), and the Savasana (Corpse Pose). Come out and participating in the SUP YOGA experience with Jennifer McManaway. Jennifer has worked in the fitness field for over 23 years and specializes in group fitness, personal training, and SUP yoga. She is AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor, NETA Certified Personal Trainer, and has been an YogaFit instructor for 15+ years. Jennifer is a Certified CPR and First Aid Instructor with American Red Cross. Jennifer loves to share her passion for fitness with everyone by making a fun enjoyable experience while helping participants reach their personal goals

11 AM A FULL BODY WORKOUT on a SUP is a combination of balance and body control. Learn how to burn calories and build muscle and body awareness through a full body workout from David Slemp, a Paddlefit, level II Instructor, safety instructor and over 10 years’ experience on a SUP.

11:30 AM A FULL BODY WORKOUT and Girls Paddlefit Class lead by Melissa Slemp. Melissa Slemp has been a St. Augustine resident for over 30 years. She loves this active and welcoming community and sharing her love of "moving our bodies" with her clients. She is AFAA Certified Personal trainer and Group Exercise Instructor & Paddle Fit trained. Also Certified CPR, First Aid & AED with American Heart Association. She is a Integrative Nutrition Health Coach through The Institute of Integrative Nutrition (I.I.N.). Her beliefs are that true health and vitality is more than just exercise, but also whole foods, managing a career, spirituality & relationships are key to overall peak health and happiness.

12:00 PM Individuals are encourage to compete in 150 INDIVIDUAL RACES around buoys set up inside the island lagoon at Metro Park. Individual SUP Races are one lap (150m) and three laps (450m) around the buoy course and the divisions are Kids: 8 and under, Kids: 9 – 12, Teen: 13 – 17, Girls: 18 and up, Guys: 18 and up.

1:00 PM SUP Contest - Push ups, head stand and full body plank contest on a SUP.

2:00 PM 500 METER RACE BOARD - Men and Women's 500 meter race around the buoys in the St. Johns River. The course is the same buoys used in the Dragon Boat Races.

3:00 PM SUP YOGA
