Join YWCA New Britain and CCSU as we take a Stand Against Racism. This FREE event features Dinner and a Community Discussion. Please see the schedule below.

6:00 p.m. -6:30 p.m.- Dinner & Networking

6:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m.- Presentation by Father Paul Abernathy to discuss an "inauguration of a new Era." 

Father Abernathy will present on trauma informed community development and how his organization built a movement to facilitate change.  Father Abernathy is the Director of Neighborhood Resilience Project, formerly FOCUS Pittsburgh, an orthodox Christian organization devoted to finding solutions to the poverty in their area.  Since 2011, they have donated hundreds of backpacks to schoolchildren, offered professional development classes, distributed Saturday lunches and dinners and opened a free medical behavioral health clinic.
