About this event

Mimeography is a printmaking technique much like screen printing. It originally used wax paper and oil-based ink to create stencils that were used to print, but weìll be doing an adapted version that makes it a bit more portable, affordable and accessible.

In this workshop, we'll use a hacked fax machine, some risograph paper and rice flour to create our own fun and colourful designs.

During the workshop Robert will briefly explain the history of mimeography before taking you through the process step by step. This introductory workshop will be closely led so as to ensure you get a great grasp of how it all works. By the end, every participant will all have contributed, printed and leave with knowledge of the process for personal projects and a set of prints to take home.

You don't need to have any printing experience: the process is very accessible and we're sure you'll love it. If you have printmaking experience, we will use your expertise to deepen the experience for everyone, and talk about how you can develop your mimeography practice further. however, none is necessary so if you are just trying something new you will also be happy with the results.

Hosted by Robert Marjoribanks at The StampaLoFi printmaking workshop on the first floor of Ocean Terminal (opposite Street Soccer). Suitable for beginners

The workshop is most fun (and to make it as cheap as possible) in groups. Therefore if there are only a couple of participants I will ask you kindly if it is possible to be flexible on dates and join another group if necessary. Thank you so much for understanding!
