Event description

Description

Tuesdays, October 10 and October 24 (two-part workshop)
6:30 pm–9 pm each day

Inspired by the exhibition Screens: Virtual Material, join artist Emily Bhargava in this intensive two-session workshop where participants will design and complete a screen using stained glass techniques.

Session 1 will focus on “the spaces in between.” Techniques and demonstrations will include glass cutting, foiling, and soldering. Participants will build on these during session 2, and begin to use objects and cut paper to incorporate elements of light and shadow into stained glass.

All are welcome! No stained glass experience necessary.

All materials will be provided.

Limit: 8

Members: $75; Not-Yet-Members: $90

Cancellation Policy: A $50 non-refundable registration fee is included in the registration. We do not issue refunds to workshops missed by the student.

This program is part of a series of glass and mosaic evening workshops offered this fall. Sign up for one or all three!

About the Instructor

Emily Bhargava is an artist and community organizer who has been teaching and leading community art projects for more than 20 years. As a stained glass artist, mosaic artist, muralist, and a facilitator, Emily often works on the border between art and public health, using art to share health information, to increase community capacity and collaboration, and to increase engagement in building healthy communities. Glass is her preferred medium, as it has the potential to transform spaces and change as the light changes.
