About this event

Stage2Startups Founders Share Series Continues in May

Have you attended too many webinars on zoom where presenters just “talk to you” but there’s barely time to get a question in edgewise? Do you have a lot of questions you want answers for, but there’s nowhere to go? Are you feeling as if you are all alone?

The Founders Share Series is a new type of zoom meeting where founders can meet and learn from each other about topics that are important to them. This experiment in sharing is now in its second stage as we integrate what we learned from our alpha test to our new pilot.

You can join our May pilot for free if you sign up early. All we ask is for participants to share their honest feedback as we can continue to improve the program.

During the month of May, we’ve chosen the following topics to discuss with founders …

May 17 - What is “storytelling” and how do you use this marketing tool to inspire your customer to take action? Our guest expert is storyteller Dorothy Wetzel.

May 18 – What are the downsides of partnerships and how can you protect yourself from an “ugly divorce?” What should be in that shareholder’s agreement? Betty Wong and Emelie Calbick will reflect on their past partnership experiences and answer your questions.

May 19 – What are the most important selling skills and how can you use these skills to convince customers to buy? Is there a difference when you are selling to corporate vs. consumer buyers? Our guest expert will be Ron Hubusher.

May 20 – What are the startup blues when it comes to legal issues and how did you address them for your company? Why are LLCs more sexy than S-Corps and C-Corp and why do you want to choose a nonprofit status when you can raise money and be socially responsible with a B-corp instead? Our guest expert will be Phil Crawley, JD.

In this version of our Founders Share pilot, we’ve asked specific guest experts to join us to answer your questions, but unlike earlier events, they will not be giving presentations. And while we’ll be video-taping the sessions, we’ll be using them for learning purposes only. So please try to join us “live.”

Please sign up early. We’ve found that these groups work well when we have fewer than 25 people, so we’ll be capping sign ups for each session. If you find yourself closed out, join our waitlist and we’ll get back to you. If this May doesn’t work for your schedule, we’ll be posting our June program soon.

We look forward to some great conversations!
