Description

Stage2's Autumn Term 2017
DISCOUNT BOOKING PERIOD

Stage2 returns in the Autumn with a complete mix of drama based options that anyone between the ages of 7-21 can get involved with!

From gaining a UCAS Accredited Qualification, devising your own performance (9-21) to creative play (7-10) and everything in-between: Workshops, Marketing, Work Experience, Outings & Masterclasses. The world really is your oyster here at Stage2.

What are my Options?

Morning | Offstage: Polished Pieces

This term the Offstage option will bring in several of Stage2’s other categories, including Qualifications. The idea is that the option will subdivide into two or three different groups who will produce a short piece for a LAMDA Exam – either Acting, Devising or Choral Speaking. As well as having Actors, each group will have combinations of Director, Designer, Writer and Tech Team, so those of you who are committed to the Offstage aspect will still be fully catered for. This will also be a fabulous alternative for those not doing this term’s productions (or older members doing AC/DC)!

The Exam group(s), will submit their piece(s) for an accredited LAMDA Exam at the Autumn Session coincidentally at Millennium Point, at the end of our Term (specific date & time to be confirmed). Stage2 will pay for the whole exam fee and submit all necessary paperwork - you just turn up! Anyone wanting to take an exam will have to have excellent attendance, stating any weeks to be missed at the Intro.

For those not wanting to take an exam there will also be the option to form a group to perform at Stage2’s usual end of term Sharings (16th Dec).

Afternoon | General Drama: Devising

This is a less formal option with all weeks self-contained, so it’s completely suitable for those with more flexible attendance this term (or those in Arsehammers who want to stay all day!). We will explore all the skills needed for creating our own theatre, including characterisation, writing, story structure, improvisation, narration, facilitating etc. These skills will also feed in to your general Acting ability as well as improve creative writing skills (very useful for school!).

We will also cover transferable skills such as planning, timetabling & project management as well as give you the chance to lead and facilitate for those of you interested in becoming teachers. The option will equip you to create exciting work for yourselves and others. There will be a Sharing on the last day of term to give Members, Friends & Family an insight into what we have explored!

Afternoon | Stage1

Stage1 is a place to learn drama, make new friends and have loads of fun! Each week the group focuses on basic drama skills, confidence building and gets stuck in with a range of active games. There is an informal Sharing at the end of term for parents, friends & family.

Term runs for 12 Saturdays during term time (with a break at half term - 28th October!)
