SHAKESPEARE WEEK
Monday 21st – Friday 25th August 2017

A full week of exploring the Bard, guaranteed to boost your exams, coursework and general admiration!

Monday: Background - His life, theatre, company & career (all four stages)
Tuesday: Style - His themes, characters, form & language (Iambic Pentameter)
Wednesday: Plays - Act out five minute versions of the most obscure
Thursday: Genius - Detailed exploration of concepts, plots, scenes & speeches
Friday: You - Perform / discuss your set-texts or favourites


TASTER WEEKS

For those who want to try out Stage2 or general/specific drama skills, each day focuses on an important area. The weeks are completely different – why not do both? Suitable for all ages, abilities and levels of experience.


Taster Week 1: Stage1 Plus
Monday 21st – Friday 25th August 2017

Aimed at 7-10 year olds & maybe a couple of years older (who don’t like Shakespeare!).

Monday: Stories - Learn how to tell your favourite tales in weird & wonderful ways!
Tuesday: Puppetry - Make your toys come to life… (Breathing, Moving, Speaking)
Wednesday: Movement - Twist & shake (etc.!) like no one’s watching… (Use body & face)
Thursday: Voice - Captivate anyone not listening…! (Accents, Diction, Projection etc.)
Friday: Characters - Create your favourites and invent & improvise some new ones!




Taster Week 2: Adventure Week
Monday 28th August – Friday 1st September 2017

Monday: Bring Puppets to Life – Explore puppet movement techniques and devise short pieces
Tuesday: Explore Theatre Formations – Proscenium Arch, Thrust, In-the-round, Traverse & Promenade
Wednesday: Play with Lights and Sound – Experiment with torches, shadows & atmospheric soundscapes
Thursday: Tell a Story – Build your skills in improvising, narrating and devising
Friday: Create New Writing – Create new poetry and prose pieces as you learn useful hints & tips


At Millennium Point, Curzon Street, Eastside, Birmingham, B4 7XG
9am – 5pm

Early drop off time 8.30am to help working parents/guardians.


Shakespeare Week costs £125 for the full week

Full Taster Weeks cost £125 per week (or £30 each day)

Non-company members (aged 7 – 21) are also welcome.

You are welcome to do both weeks. Places allocated on a first come, first served basis.
