Stacy Levy: Rain Art
Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM (EDT)
- Participate in an innovative art-making workshop about the use of rainwater.
- Design temporary RAIN ART.
- Bring awareness to stormwater management in the neighborhood.
About the workshop
In this design concept workshop, we'll brainstorm ways of showing the passage of water and explore the invisible water flows of the city.
We'll look into questions like, Where does the rain go? Where are the historic creeks that once flowed through the neighborhood? Where does the water presently flow under our streets?
We'll use unconventional art-making materials to visualize how water flows beneath our streets. And, we'll use this new-found knowledge to generate the art concept for a temporary RAIN ART installation.*
Rain date: Sunday, May 19
Important: Registration is required. Lunch will be provided. Children 14 years of age or older are welcome. Children must be accompanied by a parent.
(*RAIN ART will be installed on the Community Art-Making Day on Saturday, June 1.)
