Stacey & Alan are a new American jazz duo who artfully blend guitar and voice to reimagine classic jazz standards. A jazz vocal stylist and NYC studio singer, Stacey Schulman has lent her voice to numerous radio commercials, television series and movie soundtracks over the last two decades. Alan Schulman, a noted jazz guitarist from Cincinnati, Ohio, has toured the world and played with with Anita Baker, Michael Feinstein, Herbie Hancock & Wynton Marsalis. Together, they are bringing new energy to the Great American Songbook with intimate, musical explorations of these timeless classics.
Stacey & Alan released their debut CD “A Love Like Ours” in May 2015, which quickly became the #1 Best Seller in the Vocal Jazz category on Amazon.com in its first week of digital distribution. The couple partnered with the Global Lyme Alliance to donate all proceeds of the album to Lyme Disease research efforts. Their cover single “Summertime” was featured prominently in a Global Lyme Alliance PSA Radio campaign in the United States throughout the summer of 2015, with over 3500 plays across American radio. The CD was awarded “Best Jazz Album” honors in August 2015 by The Akademia and has been featured on Jonathan Schwartz’s Great American Songbook broadcast on WNYC in New York City, NPR-affiliate, KASU's Something Blue and Oliver Sean's international radio show across Europe and Asia.
"Stacey & Alan make music for all the right reasons: the art (witness their individual talents), each other, and their fellow humans (profits support Lyme disease research) - making this meditative work one of the finest of its kind." - The Akademia, August 2015
"A Love Like Ours is nothing short of enchanting... The album's fourteen-song lineup could have easily appeared on a Streisand, Michael Buble, Tony Bennett or Natalie Cole CD. None of these performers could have delivered a more dynamic release." - All About Jazz, August 2015
