St. Peter's Episcopal Church will host its annual Community Pig Roast on Saturday, September 24th, from 4pm to 7pm at the Church campus located at the intersection of Main Street and Devoe Avenue in Spotswood. Proceeds from the Pig Roast will benefit St. Peter's, one of New Jersey's oldest, continuously operating faith communities. St. Peter's extensive charitable work in the greater Spotswood area includes hosting the popular Wednesday night Community Suppers, Thrift Shop, support for Alice's CUP Food Pantry and its' outreach garden.
Tickets to the event cost $20 per person or $50 for a four-meal value package that includes:
Suppers of box-roasted whole pig, baked beans, fresh coleslaw, local corn-on-the-cob, roll and a drink
Musical entertainment by DJ Ryan Galway
Family fun activities including face painting and bounce house
50/50 and Gift Basket Tricky Tray (tickets will be sold at the event)
Children's meal available for purchase ($4 paid at event)
Meals may be purchased for take-out
"St. Peter's has been part of the Spotswood family since before the American Revolution," said The Reverend Marshall K. Shelly, rector of St. Peter's. "We relish the role we play here, providing real-world and spiritual sustenance to our community, and look forward to welcoming all to our annual Pig Roast."
