St. Paul's Episcopal Church Third Annual Taste of Jazz
Sun, April 30, 2017, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM EDT
Please join us and enjoy an afternoon of fabulous live jazz performances featuring Tito Puente, Jr. along with Shacara Rogers and Kayla Waters of Ebony Rose.
Tito Puente, Jr. Young Tito's heart is rooted deep in the musical soul of his father. He is unmistakably the son, physically, spiritually and musically of Tito Puente, seminal bandleader, percussionist and legendary goodwill ambassador of Latin music. But he is staking out a future in the affectionate response of those who want a modern edge added to the sensuous music that runs through all Latin lives. Puente, Jr. is taking his own eclectic sound and like his father before him – is making history and moving generations.
Ebony Rose is a Washington, DC-based duo consisting of pianist Kayla Waters (daughter of saxophonist Kim Waters) and vocalist Shacara Rogers. These two dedicated and professional musicians perform both contemporary and traditional jazz having performed with such artists as Dianne Reeves, Al Jarreau, and Esperanza Spalding. Ebony Rose enjoys creating music in many different styles and genres to touch the hearts of people across the world.
We also offer a catered menu served in the beautiful and scenic environment of the National Civil War Museum.
