Event description

Description

At Hike & Hops, explore beautiful trails and local breweries throughout Southeastern MA with Wildlands Trust! This month, join us for an exclusive tour of Northeast Wilderness Trust’s recently protected Muddy Pond Preserve with their Southern New England Land Steward Joe Falconeiri.

Be prepared for a rugged 4-mile hike with 904 feet of elevation gain. Enjoy views of Muddy Pond, multiple vernal pools, and the “new” Route 44. Joe will introduce us to the natural history, conservation value, and stewardship plans for this 300+-acre woodland, which features Pine Barrens, vernal pools, and rolling hills. Some trails are rough with steep inclines and declines over lose rocks. Afterwards, join us for a social gathering at Mayflower Brewing, just minutes from the preserve!

Ages 7+. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Leashed dogs are welcome, and owner is responsible for waste pickup. Taproom is dog and family friendly.

Parking: Meet at Parting Ways Cemetery, approx. 243 Plympton Rd., on Route 80 just before it turns right. Carpool if possible.

**This program will likely sell out. Tickets must be purchased in advance.**
