St. Patrick's Day Celebration - Songs and Stories from Ireland
Thu, March 16, 2017, 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM CDT
Chicago's beloved singer Catherine O'Connell and best-selling author Mary Pat Kelly will come together in celebration entertaining us with the "songs and stories of Ireland."
"These two women are a match made in some sort of creative heaven," said Rick Kogan in his Chicago Tribune feature Sidewalks Columns.
The pair weaves stories from Kelly's acclaimed books of historical fiction Galway Bay and Of Irish Blood with the classic Irish and Irish American music that O'Connell performs so powerfully. Kelly uses her own family's journey from the great starvation of 1840's Ireland to Mayor Edward J. Kelly's term as Chicago chief executive, 1933-`1947, to tell the Irish American Story.
The cost of the event will be $35 per person inclusive. Cancellations will be accepted by noon on Wednesday, March 15. The event begins with a reception at 11:30 a.m. and a luncheon program at noon. Books will be available for purchase.
