ABOUT THE ARTIST

The Beauty of this island surrounds you

The peace of the valley washed with dew

The spirit of the land will take you by the hand

And walk beside you all along the strand…

So ends “Come Ye Back to Ireland” a song written by David Sean Glynn about his great aunt and uncle left in Ireland by the second Great Emigration to America. Enjoy this song and the lilting and haunting spirit of Ireland on Tuesday, March 16th at 7 PM with a Livestream performance of music from The Irish Mystics, a newly-formed band for this very occasion.

The evening will include all of your favorite rollicking Irish songs mixed with the Celtic rock sounds of Van Morrison, U2, Thin Lizzy, The Pogues, The Waterboys and Christy Moore. Joining Dave on vocals and guitar will be Rich Van Ham on harmonica, Jim ‘Chevy’ Chevalier on bass and Andy Masters on fiddle.

Dave Glynn, leader of the Empty Can Band and The Irish Mystics, has been playing the Irish circuit since he was a wee lad. Performing regularly over the years at the Emerald Isle, Gaelic Park, Irish Times, Vaughan’s, Reilly’s Daughter, Durty Nellie’s and the University of Notre Dame on St. Patrick’s Day, Dave has built quite an Irish repertoire over the years. Dave has played several Irish shows with both The Dave Glynn Band and the Empty Can Band and now.. The Irish Mystics.

Please consider a donation of any size. This performance benefits The Venue.

Thank you.

About the YouTube video: Come Ye Back to Ireland is a song written by Dave Glynn about his relatives who were left by the great emigration from Ireland in the early 1900's. All of the film footage was made by David with his drone on a recent trip in the Fall of 2019 to the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry. The ruin that you see in the film is David's ancestral home. The town is called Ard na Caithne, close to Ballyferriter. It is an absolutely beautiful place. Both the film and the song are ©2019 by David Sean Glynn. Dave will perform the song at The Venue on March 16th.
