About this event
The St. Olaf Band, conducted by Timothy Mahr, will be joined by the Saratoga Symphonic Wind Ensemble for their performance at Saratoga High School McAfee Center, on Friday, February 3 at 7:00 pm during its 2023 Winter Tour. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for students of all ages! We encourage you to purchase yours in advance to ensure admittance.
Founded in 1891, the St. Olaf Band, dubbed “one of America’s preeminent bands” by the New Yorker, performs the very best compositions and transcriptions for symphonic band, producing an exciting, crowd-pleasing style.
Dr. Timothy Mahr ’78 has conducted the St. Olaf Band since 1994, and is set to retire next spring. We hope you’ll join us on his final domestic tour! The 2023 program is titled "URGENT VOICES" which highlights music that contains important and hopeful messages. Two clarinet soloists will be featured, along with two student conductors, and the repertoire will also include pieces by Aaron Copland, Jonathan Bailey Holland, Jodie Blackshaw, Timothy Mahr, David Maslanka, and more.
