Welcome to St. Nicholas Day!

Come on down to the historic Vander Ende-Onderdonk House on Sunday, December 7th, for our annual St. Nicholas Day celebration! The Museum will be decorated seasonally indoors for photos with St. Nicholas. We will have goody bags for children with a take home craft. Additionally, there will be refreshments available for purchase.

The true story of St. Nicholas began in the second century. Born into a wealthy family,Nicholas devoted his life to giving and became known for his generosity to the poor.Through the centuries, his legend grew, and he became the patron and protector ofchildren, sailors, travelers and all who are facing trouble and need help. St. Nicholas Day isstill widely celebrated in Europe and by many Dutch and European families here in America.The Greater Ridgewood Historical Society is a qualified 501(c)(3). This program is supported by public funding from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs in partnershipwith the NYC Council and by members of the Society.

General Admission is $5 and FREE for children under 12. Please reserve General or Children’s tickets for all persons attending in your party. ALL ATTENDEES, BOTH ADULTS AND CHILDREN, MUST HAVE A TICKET.

There is limited capacity inside the Museum. Last entry is at 3:45pm.

The Greater Ridgewood Historical Society is excited to partner with the 104th Police Precinct on St. Nicholas Day to make the holiday spirit brighter for children and families. Visitors are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys and gifts for children ages 1 through 18.

The104th Police Precinct, Community Affairs, will also be on hand to accept gifts and toys for the families at Summerfield Family Residence. Please help support these important community groups—St. Nicholas would want you to!

GRHS members receive free admission to public events, members please email us with amount of tickets needed and preferred time. To become a member, visit our website.

Refund Policy: All refunds requested more than 48 hours (2 days) before the event will be granted. Refunds requested less than 48 hours in advance of the event will be granted on a case by case basis. Refunds requested the day of the event will NOT be accepted.
