Elderflower Cocktail Tasting
Thursday January 8th, 2015
Small batch produced and made with premium quality juniper berries and other natural botanicals, its exceptional quality comes through in both aroma and taste. Having undergone a five-time distillation process to achieve exceptional smoothness, Copley Gin is bottled at the optimal 84 proof in order to highlight the flavors and aromas of the finest botanicals from France. Copley Gin combines an excellent quality Gin at one of the most affordable prices. Clear. Aromas of orange gelatin candy and custard and delicate herbs and spices with a silky, dry-yet-fruity medium body and warming, citrus pastry, pink pepper, and chalk finish.
St. Elder Elderflower Liqueur
St. Elder is crafted in small batches from a natural extract of fresh elderflower blossoms. The result is a finely balanced, versatile liqueur that easily pairs with a variety of spirits, wines and beers to liven up any classic cocktail. Found mainly in warmer regions in the US, “American Elder” or Sambucus Canadensis, typically blossoms in late spring. Its tiny, delicate and creamy white petals provide the base for this artisanal blend. Infused into our fine liqueur base. St. Elder offers up silky floral notes and alpine herb aromas with undertones of sweet ripe stone fruits and notes of citrusy grapefruit on the palate.
Tito’s Handmade Vodka is produced in Austin at Texas’s first and oldest legal distillery. It’s made of corn in small batches in an old fashioned pot still by Tito Beveridge (actual name), a 40-something Geologist, and distilled six times. Tito’s Handmade Vodka is designed to be savored by spirit connoisseurs and everyday drinkers alike. It is microdistilled in an old-fashioned pot still, just like fine single malt scotches and high-end French cognacs. This time-honored method of distillation requires more skill and effort than modern column stills, but it’s well worth it.
La Marca Prosecco
This sparkling wine is pale, golden straw in color. Bubbles are full textured and persistent. On the nose the wine brings fresh citrus with hints of honey and white floral notes. The flavor is fresh and clean, with ripe citrus, lemon, green apple, and touches of grapefruit, minerality, and some toast. The finish is light, refreshing, and crisp.
La Marca Prosecco is produced from 100% Glera grapes harvested in early September, and sourced from hundreds of small vineyards throughout the region. The grapes were crushed immediately after harvest before being pressed in gentle membrane presses. The juice was allowed to cold-settle before the initial fermentation occurred in stainless steel at 59-65º F. The still wine underwent aging on the lees prior to a secondary fermentation using the Charmat process at a temperature of 59F.
