SSTRIDE Alumni Leadership Conference

In honor of SSTRIDE's 30th anniversary, we will be holding a leadership conference hosted by our alums who have diversified healthcare through medicine and other professional fields. With various workshops and panels focused on diversifying healthcare and bridging gaps, the SSTRIDE Leadership Conference will be bringing together SSTRIDE alums who have published articles to be CME-qualified presenters in addition to other alums who will present topics on health disparities, leadership in medicine, effects of covid on the body, wellness, Death and Dying: A clinical perspective on the finality of life, health equity, mentorship gaps, strategies to improve minority health in underserved communities, and much more.

The agenda will bring dynamic keynote sessions, multiple health and medical sessions, engaging panel discussions, networking opportunities, and an interactive research fair where attendees can host a poster session on any topic within their field. The conference will culminate with a banquet dinner with a special keynote address featuring Thesla Anderson, SSTRIDE’s Founder, an alumni spotlight segment acknowledging the accomplishments of each of our alumni in the medical, public health, STEM, and other related fields.

Any profits from the conference will go towards future scholarships for pipeline students that are accepted to FSU, FAMU, and undergraduate students admitted to FSU College of Medicine and plan to enroll at either of these institutions.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:

Monday December 11th

• Conference Registration from 6:00pm – 8:00pm
• Networking Reception from 8:00pm - 10:00pm

Tuesday December 12th

• Conference Sessions from 8:30am – 5:00pm

Wednesday December 13th

• Conference Sessions from 8:30am – 5:00pm
• Banquet Dinner & Alumni Spotlight from 6:30pm – 11:30pm

Thursday December 14th

• Research Fair and Closing Sessions from 8:30am – 12:00pm
