Join us aboard the legendary USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum for a special Pre-University STEM-Workshop Day, an event organized by the IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology (SSIT), held in association with ISTAS25.
Students will participate in inspirational IEEE REACH hands-on activities, watch engaging videos, and experience USS Hornet related technologies. This full-day experience is designed to stimulate young students' (ages 12-18) interest in STEM by examining the history and social implications of technology with hands-on learning and interactive STEM activities; all set aboard one of the most storied aircraft carriers in U.S. history. Educators will have an opportunity to see first hand how the IEEE REACH resources may be used in the classroom.
IEEE REACH is a free, interdisciplinary, open education resource program for secondary educators. The resources include lesson plans, hands-on activities, primary and secondary sources and engaging videos. It is an IEEE History Center Program, an IEEE Humanitarian Technologies affiliated program with support from the IEEE Foundation.
Parent or legal guardian must accompany anyone under 14
