SPYPLN 2017 - Better Together: Innovation Through Diversity
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Association of Student Affairs Professionals (ASAP) invites future student affairs professionals, graduate students, and current educators to join us on February 25th, 2017 for the SPYPLN 2017 Conference, Better Together: Innovation through Diversity!
Designed around theme “Better Together: Innovation through Diversity,” the conference will provide opportunities to learn and cultivate best practices in 21st century higher education. Conference attendees will explore the roles of young professionals in higher education, as well as the importance of improving university processes and programs for the support and accommodation of our students by collaborating with various departments within institutions. The conference will provide an opportunity to think deeply about current issues in higher education by offering a chance for self-reflection and group reflection. Current topics include college affordability, scarcity of resources, the establishment and protection of safe spaces, current administrative practices, and race relations in higher education. Most importantly, the conference strives to build a greater sense of community and support for young professionals interested in improving practices by working better together.
We encourage you to take the opportunity to attend this conference to learn about innovative ideas to inform your own student affairs practices, as well as network with young professionals and students from across the Midwest. You may also consider submitting a workshop proposal or volunteering at the conference!
If you are interested in presenting at the conference please visit our proposal website to submit one for consideration by January 23rd, 2017:
