Are the trails paved?

We will be meeting at the Illinois Canyon parking lot off of IL-71 east of the park. There will be a brown road sign marking the parking lot. The trail is dirt and sandstone with a few small and shallow creek crossings. Waterproof shoes or a change of socks and shoes is recommended.

Are binoculars available to those who don't have a pair to bring to the hike?

Yes, email the naturalist at lisa.sons@illinois.gov if you need to borrow a pair of the park's binoculars.

The park has 20 binoculars available for those who would like to use them.
