Event description

Description

Emmy Award winning jazz composer and pianist Wilson Somers with his jazz trio and guests will lead us on a magical tour of “Springtime In Paris” on Sunday April 30, 2017 at The Tatnall School’s Laird Performing Arts Center. The net proceeds from this latest concert event presented by Mass for the Homeless, Inc. as part of its “Music With A Mission” series will benefit Catholic Charities of the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington and its 16 diverse community outreach programs. All tickets are $20.

The concert will begin at 7:30 PM and will feature music composed by Mr. Somers, including his classic “Springtime In Paris” and from other great composers as performed by The Wilson Somers trio featuring Mr. Somers on piano, Pete Paulson, contra-bass and Glenn Ferricone on percussion. They will be joined by guests Ed Kirkpatrick, tenor saxophone, Stan Slotter, trumpet and flute, and Wes Morton, vibes. The evening will include return vocal performances from The Tatnall Singers, a select vocal ensemble, and outstanding soloist Annie Fitch who brought down the house at Mr. Somers’ “Jazz Christmas” concert.
