Join Mt. Zion UMC-Baltimore on Saturday, December 10th from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. for a powerful time of equipping as we learn more about the cradle-to-prison pipeline that criminalizes children and floods this country's prisons and jails with young lives. Inform and position yourself, your ministry or organization to break the cycle that sustains wealth for the prison industrial complex and devastates families and communities. Our facilitator will be Rev. Douglas Walker of Clearwater, Florida, a Wesley Seminary graduate and consultant for Healing Communities with the United Methodist General Board of Church and Society. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP using the Eventbrite FREE TICKET option so that we can reserve your space. A love offering will be taken.
Rev. Walker will also be the guest preacher at Mt. Zion UMC-Baltimore on Sunday, December 11th.
"We must speak out against policies that contribute to criminalizing children at younger and younger ages, and fight for policies that help children thrive and put them on track to a productive adulthood." (Children's Defense Fund Cradle to Prison Fact Sheet)
