Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

The Friends of the National Arboretum need your help planting native shrubs and grasses along the newly restored Springhouse Run, a stream that runs through the Arboretum and into the Anacostia River

The stream has been beautifully restored with pools and riffles, rocks and waterfall and wide floodplain. Next up is planting thousands of native plants grown from seed gathered by the Arboretum staff and local garden clubs.

We're hosting three "open planting" days with 50-60 volunteers needed for each day. They will be on Thursday, November 2nd; Thursday, Nov 9th; Saturday, November 18th; and Saturday, December 2nd.

We'll supply tools, guidance and some refreshments. Come on out and have good time!
