Event description

Description

The Friends of the National Arboretum needs your help with the continued care of the newly restored Springhouse Run, a stream that runs through the grounds of the Arboretum and into the Anacostia River. The stream has been beautifully restored with pools, riffles, rocks, and a waterfall. Last fall and spring, with the help of many volunteers, thousands of native plants grown from seeds gathered by the Arboretum staff and local garden clubs were planted.

Volunteers have planted over 20,000 native plants! We have made it through a hot summer and are ready to have volunteers come out and help with continued maintenance work along the stream. Below are the scheduled days for volunteers to help with plantings, weeding, and general care of the site.

That’s where you can help!

Thursday, September 20, 2018 10AM-1PM
