Come out to Springfield BMX Raceway on Monday, May 1, 2023 for a FREE "give-it-a-try" open house, especially for new families, to learn about and get some on-track experience in the sport of BMX Racing. The event runs 6:00PM-7:30PM.
Our Spring 2023 League starts Monday, May 8, and runs five sessions (May 8, 15, 22, June 5 and 12) from 6:00PM to 8:30PM). We skip May 29 for Memorial Day.
The League is a Beginners-only experience, which includes both instruction and racing in each of the five sessions.
Everyone had a great time at our Spring season, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back—and more— for the Late-Summer season.
The Open House is the perfect opportunity to learn about the League, and get in on an activity that is all-about fun, fitness and family time. For more info on the League, or to enroll, visit: springfieldbmxleague.com
The League is open to boys and girls 4-15 years, and moms, dads and grandparents of riders. A “Beginner” is someone who has never raced BMX outside of the League program.
Here’s a rundown of how the event will be structured:
For Riders
Kids will enjoy a “roll-around” on the track, supervised by our league coach and on-track volunteers. This is an "appetizer portion" to the instruction they will receive during the League season. The League also includes racing as part of each session.
For Parents
Watch from the stands, or grab your bike, air up the tires and join the fun with your kids. When it comes time to sign up for the League, parents ride for half price. After a tour of the facility, we will give parents a briefing on how the League format works.
For the Whole Family
-A welcome message from Springfield BMX League staff.
-A "Track Walk" of the course, to give riders and parents an up-close view of the course.
-Firsthand stories from BMX families on what the sport of BMX Racing has done for them.
-Group and personal Q&A time to answer all your questions.
What to Bring/What to Wear for Riders
- Long sleeves, jeans, closed-toe "grippy" shoes
- A bike without reflectors, chain guard and/or pegs
- A helmet (full-face preferred)
**IMPORTANT**
Riders must be able to ride a pedal bike without training wheels to participate. We offer a "Strider" program for kids that are not-yet riding a pedal bike, on non-league race days.

Create one ticket per RIDER. Family members not riding do not need a ticket.
