Event description

Description

Join Springer Nature and our partners at The Story Collider for a fun evening of cocktails and personal stories told by Palgrave authors. Inspirational, captivating, enlightening and certainly entertaining, you will have the opportunity to hear about and connect with the experiences of political science experts on the frontlines of discovery.

Doors open at 7PM and the show begins at 7:30PM.

Featuring:

Shannon Bow O'Brien took an unconventional route to political science -- dropping out of college for financial reasons, taking a job at a travel agency, teaching in Budapest, and then realizing she longed for academia.

Kathleen Hale's own experiences at the polls inspire her to study voting in the United States -- and some of what she learns surprises her.

Ethan J. Hollander's meeting with a convicted Nazi collaborator challenges his thinking about good and evil.

Chiseche Mibenge's experiences of sexual harrassment inspire her to study violence against women.

Hans H. Tung shares a pivotal moment at the epicenter of a national crisis in Hong Kong that changes his perspective.

This is a free*, sponsored event held in conjunction with the 2017 Annual Meeting of the American Political Science Association. Please RSVP to redeem your TWO free drinks!

*This free event is also open to the public!
