SP 2472! One of the largest steam locomotives west of the Mississippi !
Grab your friends and family and come out for a ride behind a vintage steam locomotive, Southern Pacific No. 2472, as the train travels through scenic Niles Canyon. It's a perfect way to get away from it all. Plus, what better way to get away from it all than from the comfort of a train?
This weekend we will also be featuring our restored Fairbanks Morse locomotive. FM used its successful line of submarine diesel engines to enter the locomotive market in 1947. The unusual engine has a unique sound. GGRM is one of the few museums in the country to operate a restored FM. Come see it along with the 2472!
Visit the Fine Art and Craft Show of the Niles Canyon Artisans booths set up conveniently at the Sunol Depot. Browse the many hand-produced fine arts and crafts by local artisans.See more at www.nilescanyonartisans.blogspot.com/
