Description

In this introduction to gardening class, students will learn about seeds, germination, soil types, fertilizer, and much more, with emphasis on organic gardening. Learn about different planting techniques such as containers, raised beds, and square foot gardening. Participants will plant seeds in small pots, transplant seedlings, and take home a flat of heirloom tomato seeds and plants. Grow your own vegetables while learning and having fun!

Location: Creamery Classroom

Class Fee: Members $70 including lunch. Non-members $80, including lunch. All materials included. Requires advance registration, limited to six participants.

Please bring an apron or comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Your workshop includes a delicious boxed lunch and you will find the menu listed below. Please choose Option I, II, or III and email your choice by April 12th to t.glisson@farmersmuseum.org. If no choice is made, Option I will be ordered for you.

OPTION I: Ham & Swiss with lettuce, tomato, and onion on a wheat wrap

OPTION II: Turkey & Cheese with lettuce, tomato, and onion on a wheat wrap

OPTION III: Veggie Wrap-Hummus & assorted vegetables on a spinach wrap

All lunches include a bag of chips, apple, cookie, and bottled water.
